Spend It Like Sarah

Sarah Palin raided the Republican National Committee money like she was going after the National Treasury. In the latest edition of "Clothesgate" it has been revealed that Sarah Palin was advised to purchase appropriate clothing for the campaign season. Her budget? $20,000 - $25.000. Palin spent $150,000 of the RNC's money on clothes, luggage, jewelry and lavished the RNC's largess on her family as well.

And is she grateful? Absolutely not! She told her admiring crowds that she would buy from her hometown second hand store. She blamed the RNC for making her buy this wardrobe. My favorite part is Palin claims it all belongs to the Republican Party, "Just like the lighting and staging...that the RNC purchased." I guess the RNC will closet the suits for the next female president/vice-president nominee. Who is keeping watch over the jewelry?

Back home Palin is saying to her kids, ""Alright now, the campaign is over and those nice new clothes have to go back those the people in the RNC." You betcha!!

UnAmerican Republicans

I can't afford to pay a bodyguard so maybe I should buy a gun. It will also be helpful to institute any laws I decide since my neighbors will have their own laws. I can't afford to pay for city lights so I'll just light my own yard. Can't afford private tutors so I'll just educate my own kid. Can't afford to pave the roads, well, I'll let the other guy figure that one out.
If I want to have police and fire protection I'll pay my taxes. I'll also have streets in good condition, street lights and my kid can get a decent education without that much cost to me. My neighbors and I will be living in an orderly world because we will have judges and legislators, and even a few elected folks in charge to take care of this for me.
So why do the Republicans love Joe the Plumber who doesn't pay his taxes? Nobody loves shelling out money to a faceless entity, I like the cashiers at Costco better. On the other hand, it's unAmerican to not pay taxes to keep this incredible country running.

Sarah Palin Promoting Drunk Driving

During Palin's tenure on Wasilla City Council, she voted AGAINST an ordinance to CLOSE THE BARS at 2 a.m. instead of 5 a.m. Police chief at that time Irl Shambaugh, sane person that he is , was in FAVOR of the ordinance. So was the mayor John Stein, claiming that "people were driving out from Anchorage to the valley for more alcohol and crashing." (Thanks Newsweek for the quote) Who but a drinking person is hanging out in bars until 5 in the morning? Who can even drive after staying up that late?
Swingin' Palin fired police chief Stambaugh after she became mayor. According to Newsweek, the bar owners contributed more than 10% to Palin's mayoral campaign. Hmmm....
What amazes me is that I haven't heard one word from MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving. You'd think this one trick pony organization would be jumping all over Palin for her total lack of good judgement for the safety and well-being of her fellow Alaskans. Imagine "last call" after sunrise.
